10 thought for Tuesday

1. I think the boys just fell asleep. Yeah!! That means I have about an hour to myself!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. I sent J to camp today. He was driving me up a wall. He was so rude, loud, he kept getting the boys all worked up instead of helping me out. I called a camp that I knew about and they had an opening. I was so glad. We will get reimbursed for most of it through the adoption grant. Yeah!!!!
3. It has been so quiet all day with out the older kids. The boys have been there normal selves, but they don't have J to keep them going.
4. C loves going to speech. That is good for him. He said today that he loves Miss Jenny. He loves her voice and her hair. How cute is that.
5. Brenda - we went to Taco Bell for lunch. The 4 of us (the 3 of us met Dh for lunch) only spent $13 and we had a ton of food.
6. I am going to make chicken italian something or other. I have some fresh green beans to make also. I need to get them cut.
7. I need this break from J so badly!!!
8. The girls are coming home on Saturday. I have a ton of chores for them to catch up on!! Hee Hee
9 I went to the mall. I went to CJ banks and got some things on clearance. I also used a $10 coupon at Bath and Body works - I did not spend anything!!! I then went to the Children's place and got somethings. They are so cheap. I got some shirts for $1.44 and then 15% off.
10. I did not get a lot of responses to my 100 things about me. Don't you care? I am just kidding.
11. Bonus, my brother is home from the hospital and doing better I guess.

Howdy

So, today I woke up with dh and did the dishes, got J ready to go, cleaned up the kitchen some. I made the Fruity Pebble treats. Then I went back to bed for about an hour. Then I got C ready for his mini preschool and T up. While C was there, T and I went to the store and came home and I swept, mopped, and cleaned the bathroom. The air conditioner guy came and cleaned it and said it was working right. Then I picked up C. We were having friends over for lunch. I made chicken salad for us (the other mom and I)and PBJ for the boys, we also had grapes and berries, chips, corn on the cob, pickles, and the treats. It was all good. The chicken salad was made from rotisserie chicken, ranch, mayonaise, cut up pickles, bacon, and mediterranean blend of cheese crumbles (feta, parmesan, provolone). It was good.

The boys played outside. We stayed outside and talked. They left about 2:30. Now the boys are sleeping. So I have a few minutes before I have to wake them up.

Our brake light keeps coming on in our van. I am not sure if something is wrong, but it should not be. I HATE THIS VAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have only had it a year, and we bought it new. We never had anything wrong with the breaks on the other van and we had it 5 years!! UGHH. I think I will call Chrysler this time.

Monday evening

We took the van to get an oil change.

Then we went to eat lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. It is good, but expensive. I had popcorn shrimp and chicken.

Then we went to go see Wall E. It was cute. I was not expecting it too be. I enjoyed it
.
We did not take S because she was going to babysit. Then the family decided not to use her. I was a little upset about it. We also did not take J. He left our house about 5 times without permission. We were getting ready to go and J was over at the neighbors house instead of in his room. Uggh!!!

Now we are just sitting around doing not much at all. I should make dinner, but I am not hungry because lunch was late. I know the kids are going to be hungry. Maybe I will just heat up a pizza or something.

We just got home

And I don't think I told you we were going!!

We left Friday morning for St. Louis. Dh is not one for exploring. So this is really one of the first times we have traveled further than 4 hours from home since the kids have come.

He was off Thursday and is off tomorrow. We were going to make it a longer vacation, but with the weather one and off, we were not sure if we were going or not. We ended up leaving Friday at 10. We drove almost straight through. We got to St. Louis at about 7. We got some Little Ceasars pizza to eat at the hotel and then went swimming.

Saturday we woke up and took Dh, S, and J to the race track. They went to see an episode of Pinks being filmed. Pinks is a car show on the Speed channel. We know the announcer. He got everyone tickets. Actually he gave all of us crew passes. That means we got to go where ever we wanted. We sat right by the track. They kept kicking people out of the area. When they were taping, we were next to the cameras. They also got to eat with the crew and go into the announcers booth. Those three stayed all day, we went off and did are own thing and came back about 6 to watch also.

A, C, T, and I went to the zoo. It was fun to see the different animals than what we have at ours. St. Louis has a nice zoo. It was getting hot, so we did not stay a real long time. Maybe 2 hours with lunch also.

We also went to the Science Center. That was fun. Not a lot of interaction for kids C and T's age, but it was fun.

Next we went to the Arch. We wanted to go up, only we thought we had to go get dh. It was about an hour wait, an hour up and back, plus about 30 minutes to back to the track. Afterwards we knew we had the time, but we did not when we were in the bottom. The kids had fun in the gift shop. They were really tired by that time and fell asleep.

Then we went to the races. It actually was fun for the last part of the day. So far the trip was good.

Then this morning, we got up and got going. We were going to head home today, but since dh had Monday off, we decided to stay another day halfway home. We were going to spend some time in Hannibal, Mo. They have some neat caves to go through. We found them, but it looked like they were flooded. There was water everywhere. We went to the visitors center. They said that it was still open, you could get to the parking lot. Dh asked if I wanted to go back. I knew he did not, so I said it was ok. Then I thought we were going to eat somewhere fun. We ended up at Hardee's. I had to go in and get it, and we ate in the car. (Really bad service anyway!!!!!) So we were going to stop and spend the night in Keokuk, IA. I lived there when I was very young. I was going to see if I could find my old home and show the kids around. The kids were acting up and we missed the exit. Dh was mad at that time because I asked him to turn around. Then when we did, the road said it was closed in 6 miles. At that point I knew he was not staying. So, we were going to spend the night in Iowa City. For some reason Dh said just said we are close enough to just go home. So I finally got him to stop and go to the outlet malls. We only got to one because they closed at 6 and it was 5:30 when we got there. I did get some good deals on shorts and jeans for the kids and me. Then we stopped at a Mexican restaurant closer to home. They seated us in the none smoking section, but a table from the smoking section. 5 guys were getting out their ciggerettes. We asked to move, but they did not have a table, so we left.

That was the last straw for me. I started crying. I am blaming a lot of this on dh. He is so scared all the time when he is driving. He makes the kids sit still and quiet. I don't mind that when the weather is bad or something, but all of the time is not necessary. He hate driving in anything but perfect weather. He does not like driving by trucks. He does not like going fast...... It gets really old, really quick. And of course, any of it is my fault. It rains, it's my fault. A truck weaves a little, it is my fault. I hate it. That is why we never go anywhere. The other thing I was thinking was that I wanted to go to a family reunion. But I knew that dh would not want to. It is about 7 hours away. It would require us to drive there one day and back the next. But this is ok? Uggh!!!!

Anyway, it would have been a nice trip if we did something besides sit today

Ok, so I was wrong

It is bad!!

We have had the electician come out. That was not a bad bill. It was about $85. We also have to have the freezer guy out for $65.

But when we went into J's room to turn on the light, he has a leak in his ceiling. We called every roofer in town. Finally we have found someone. So I could use prayers that he is honest, able to find a quick fix, can fix it tonight, and we are only looking at the $125 he said over the phone to come out. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sould be here in a few minutes. Hopefully.
The kids lost their computer. It is fried.

The garage door is still broken. I am also praying that Dh can fix it. The electrician could not. Dh is going out to get new sensors. If they are fried, then they can just be replaced. I don't want to replace the entire opener.

We are supposed to go out of town tomorrow. I am not sure now if we will. I don't know if I want to. It is for dh and S.

My biggest nightmare happened at 7:30am

and it was not so bad.

Right about the time dh and I got married a friend had lightning strike their house. Since then, I always counted the number of seconds between lighting and thunder. You know to see if the lightning was close.

We had loud rolling thunder last night. Not much lightning. J missed swim lessons. It rained a bunch, and then it was over.

I guess it rained some more over night. It was still lightning and thundering this morning. Then at 7:30 we were all alsleep. A big bang and a flash of lightning. All of the electronics blinked really bright. And the fire alarms went off. It all happened in a second. We went around and checked everything. I think we lost a phone. It has 3 phones that connect to it, so they are dead also. None of the phones worked at first, and neither did the internet, but we called the cable company and now they do. The upstairs hallway lights, bathroom everything, and Joshuas everything do not work. The hallway plug in works. It has a surge protector on it. The garage door does not work. It has 2 things on both side that create a beam going across. The garage door reacts when you push the button, but one of the sensors does not have a light on. So we think it was fried. The freezer works, but the panel on the outside of it does not. That is how you control the temp on it. So we have an electrician coming out today and a refrigerator guy on Monday.
