Checking out a new church

I woke up at 6 this morning to rain, rain and some more rain. It was lightning and thundering. We were not going to go to church with weather like that. It let up before it was time.
We went to our church for about 20 minutes because it was my first Sunday to help lead new people to the right place in the children's area. I only helped one person. They wanted to know if the 5th graders meet during the Summer. I said no.

Then the road we used to get to church flooded so we had to go home another way. We had driven over water to get there. It was just at a point that maybe we should not have driven over it, but it was a small area and we could see the line in the middle of the road.
Then we went to McDonalds for $1 pancakes and sausage. The kids like doing that.
Next we went to a different church. The kids area was great. J started out in a McDonald's like play area. It had a ball pit and tubes and such. Then he was playing basketball when I picked him up. I checked on them half way through and he was watching a skit. The boys also played in a gym during church and started their time with a snack. That is good for them. They would be able to stay for Sunday School and Church if they got a snack and time in a gym. I checked on them another time and they were laying down during a story time. But C said he learned about God, so that is good. The church has a huge kids area. I saw the doors for the youth center, but did not look inside. That would be for Jr. and Sr. high I think. Then the elementary area had the play area, a several arcade games, like game cube, and the basketball area, and fuseball. The preschool area had rooms for each age and an open area for puppets and such. The funny thing is that the sanctuary is not very big. It is probably half of the size of our church. It did not match the kids huge areas. I am not sure if they have plans to build a bigger sanctuary and wanted to do the kids area first. I know that the kids area just opened up in maybe the last month. I don't know if we will try again or not. I liked the message, and all. They sang more hymn while our church sing praise songs. I like a mixture. The other thing was that the people seemed to be older than our church. They have to have a lot of younger people with all of the kids though.

Then we ate lunch at Long John's Silver. Now I am here, waiting on the boys to go to sleep. I have the girls cleaning the basement. I don't really know why it is so bad, but it is. Maybe because we have little martians that come in our home at night and mess up everything. I think that is what happens. We are going in a little bit to get paint. I need to make some baked beans and potato salad tonight for this week. I also have a brisket in the oven.
The boys are asleep. I think I am going to lay down a minute and then get back to moving stuff and cleaning.
