We are done!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have the entire house painted. Ok, almost. I am going to paint C and Ts room. They have a few white patches from where A and S were fighting over the door and pushed it though the drywall. We don't have any more of the paint, but J's is a similiar color. I am going to cover the white and then lightly roll over the rest. That will maybe make it look like sponge painting. At least I hope. It will look better anyway. I want to do it now, but the boys are going to sleep in the room so I can not paint it yet. I don't want them to have to sleep in fumes. Maybe I will do it while they are getting dressed in the morning.
Ok, so here is the run down of what we have done since Monday. I had a bunch of shades of paint. Several pinks, several greens, a couple of yellows, and the tan. I played around with them to get the colors I wanted for the rooms. I was able to create the exact colors I wanted for each room with all of the mistinted paint I got for betten a dollar and 6 dollars.
My dad was late and I was eager, so I started painting. I painted under the cabinets and behind the refrigerator. Then I went to the dentist. (all was good on that front) Then we painted downstairs.
Dh painted the entryway a light yellow. This was from the 5 gallon bucket we got for $10.. Then my dad and his wife painted the kitchen area. One wall in the kitchen is a maroonish color that I mixed. Then one wall in the living room is a similiar color as well as between the fireplace. The rest of the walls are a deep tan that was the 5 gallon bucket I got for $20. Then my dad's wife and I put my dishes up on the cabinets. I have not had them up there before in a nice way. I tried with my mom when we moved in, but we needed something to lift them up. I found some stuff this time. I used our wii box and a bunch of Capri Sun boxes. The cabinets have lip on them that so that anything we put on the shelves is hidden. The boxes made the shelves even so that you could see the dishes. I have some glass stuff from some Princess House parties I had and then some pieces of my dishes. I also stayed up until about 3am hanging pictures and such.
Tuesday I painted the downstairs bathroom a deep green. It is decorated in cabin stuff, so the green looks good. My dad finished painted the living room. Then went to the hallway and painted up the staircase, the hallway, and down to the basement. All of that was in the tan. I then went to my bedroom. I used the deep green and then mixed in some light and painted. I did not clean out my brush or pan. There are streaks of dark green on the main wall in our room. It looks like I faux painted the wall. After that we stopped for the day. We went out to dinner for our anniversary and Artie and the girls put the living room back together. A also cleaned the carpets. They look great. I stayed up until 4 hanging pictures and cleaning out the front room.
Wednesday I used the maroon paint from downstairs and added some yellow, tan, and a light marroon to the mix. I ended up with a muted maroon color. It matches the shower curtain and bedspread perfectly. I am not sure how to describe the color but maybe a terra cotta pink. We painted the main part of the bathroom with it. Then I poured some of it in can with some bright yellow and tan. I ended up with a mustard color that I used in the shower room of our bathroom. Then I used the green from the bedroom and mixed some tan and the green from Sydney's room like an apple green. It made it a moss color. I used it in the front room. It matched the curtains I bought the other day. I got $100 for $10 at Bed Bath and Beyond. Then Artie was getting tired of painting. And the girls really wanted to help paint. So I mixed the paint for the kids bathroom. I mixed the bright yellow, some of the light yellow and a bright pink together. It made a tangerine color. They have crayola stuff in the bathroom. They also have a tropical shower curtain. (the shower curtain used to be crayola, but they tore it.) The girls and my dad painted the bathroom and then J's room. His is a pale blue. Then we started putting things back and hanging things up again. I cleaned out J's room. I threw away 5 bags of broken toys and trash. His room finally looks clean and nice. He does not have a lot in there now to mess up.
Today I said how about we hang the curtains and then go do something. We ended up cleaning and putting things away and back. We hung the curtains in the living room and then when we went to get the ones for the bedroom, the rod was too short. So My dad's wife and I went to Walmart. I finally found some thing for my dad for Father's Day. I got him some rooster stuff for the kitchen. Honestly he likes that kind of thing. Then we found a curtain that matched the bathroom. So we came home and put the curtains in the bedroom and the bathroom. We put on the new quilt. We hung all of the pictures, and shelves. I had hung the shower curtain last night. Then I had gotten some new rugs for the entryway, kids bathroom, and one for our bathroom. I got those out. My dad's wife cleaned up the paint off of the floor and other areas. We swept and cleaned some more. Then we took them to dinner. Then they went home. I came home and cleaned and put out the rest of the stuff.
Tomorrow I need to find a place for the extra paint. I saved a ziplock screw lid container of each color. We still have a bunch of paint left. Then I need to do C and T's room. We have some stuff to straighten in the kitchen and then the basement needs to be put back together. S is going to steam clean the carpets. Then I will take pictures so you can see all that we did. I love it, so I am eager to share. I am so glad we just did the whole thing at the same time. That was easer to keep the mess to one time. It is also hard to see one room done and then go into a room where the walls are dirty. It actually looks like a home now.
So I am going to wait until tomorrow to catch up on your lives. The boys finally feel asleep. It is now 12:30 and I have to have all of the animals to the vets at 7. I am really tired all of the sudden.
